A Fact is a thing that is indisputably the case and is typically proven through evidence. If science, logic, and citation can prove something is true, then it gets labeled fact. If one or more parts of a statement are false, then it should be categorized a myth (all half-truths are myths). Some truth has grey areas, others like “Lincoln was a Republican” are a matter of record. You’ll find both types below, and when we use philosophical arguments that employ logic and reason, it will be noted.

The Estate Tax Is Fair fact

The federal estate tax on property (cash, real estate, stock, or other assets) transferred from deceased persons to their heirs is a fair tax that helps prevent a wealth gap over time.

Fake News is Real fact

"Fake news" is news meant to influence rather than provide pure information. It is real and as old as the printing press. However, only some of what is labeled as "fake news" is actually "fake."

John Lennon’s Deportation Case Inspired DACA fact

Some speculate that John Lennon's status as a vocal anti-war rock icon caused Nixon to push for his deportation... which ironically resulted in a legal case that inspired President Obama's 2012 immigration policy DACA.

About Half of Americans Own Stocks fact

According to a 2016 Gallup poll about half of American adults own stocks and about half don't. This is down since 2007 when around 65% of American adults owned stocks.

Bernie Sanders Can Still Be Elected President By Electors fact

Bernie Sanders can still technically be elected President by electors (who vote December 19th, 2016). This could be done by 270 electors voting for Bernie, or by Trump being deprived a 270 majority and the House electing Bernie.
