Some claim the Second Amendment, like the Three-Fifths Compromise, was ratified to preserve slavery. This is only partially true.
Gun rights include the individual right to keep and bear arms and self defense and the collective right to gun control and the defense of the state. The pairing of gun rights, gun control, and the sentiment behind these regulations and rights creates gun culture. Different countries and regions have different gun culture.

In Switzerland, it is estimated that about 25-30% of citizens own a gun, and more own hunting weapons (which don’t require registration) or own unregistered old army weapons.
